In 2016, about 18,800 people in alberta were told they have cancer. The number of new cancer cases in Alberta has been increasing for the last 30 years, and is expected to continue to increase - unless we take action, together.2

Experts agree, that about 4 in every 10 cancers in Alberta are linked to factors that we can change. That's about 6,100 cancer cases that we could prevent each year, if we work together on the things that we know cause cancer, and are within our ability to effect.1

Some types of cancer cannot be prevented at all, but some are linked to modifiable risk factors. This means that some cancers are more preventable than others.
